First published in 1655. The title-plate, engraved by Richard Gaywood, is an altered version of the one first used in the 1655 edition. Another (earlier?) issue of the 1660 edition (ESTC r173408) has the imprint of 'E[llen]: Coates ... Sould by Thomas Heath and Henry Herringman ...'. The text is continuous despite the irregular pagination. ESTC r209970.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting sig. G3 and its conjugate G6 (pp. 85-6 and 91-2). Inscribed in ink on verso of frontispiece John Stamford / 1664 and Edw. Witherington 1708 both crossed out, with an armorial doodle in ink; and on fol. a1r Matt: Dawkins Stamford and Edward Witherington / his book bought of mr Tho: Dawkins, 23 May 1706. With an ink sketch of the arms of St Katherine's Hospital in the margin of p. 250. The verso of p. 251 and three following endpapers are inscribed in ink in a 17th-century hand with notes on heraldry.
