First published in 1798. The title-page and dedication leaf are engraved. Pages [1--62] and [196--623] are numbered as columns 1--124 and 3--958. The maps are either dated August 1821 or headed 'Ninth Edition'. The index to country seats and their owners now occupies pp. 959--1047. Soane also owned the second edition of the New Itinerary, 1802 (q.v.), as well as Cary's New map of England and Wales, 1794 (q.v.).

Binding C19th half black morocco, marbled-paper boards, spine gilt double-ruled and lettered.
