Originally published in parts which had been advertised as 'Miscellaneous Etchings'. The dedication is to Sir H.C. Englefield, vice-president of the Society of Antiquaries. The letterpress consists of a 'Descriptive Index' and a 4-page list of subscribers. BAL, Early printed books, no. 713.

Copy Notes Both copies with a single-leaf prospectus for Cotman's A series of etchings ... of Norfolk, tipped-in at the front; Soane's library does not contain a copy.
Copy 1: Inscribed in pencil on front paste-down £2/12:6, the price given in Priestley and Weale's Catalogue of books on architecture, 1831 (q.v.), item 140.
Copy 2: Inscribed in pencil on front paste-down £2. 12. 6, and on front free-endpaper 2. 15. 0, with two alternative partially erased prices and, near the bottom of the page, 3. 3. 0 which is the price Soane paid Weale in 1830. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.7.10).

Binding Copy 1: Sheep-backed grey paper boards, paper spine-label lettered by hand in ink.
Copy 2: Sheep-backed grey paper boards, red morocco spine-label lettered in gilt 'Cotman's Etchings'.
