[London]: [1823].
[2] p. ; 43.6 cm. (2°)

Lithographically printed half-sheet, verso blank. Dated at foot of text 'May 1823'. The first number, containing 'Six Views with Descriptive Manuscript' printed on '4to Super Royal Paper' (to form 'a desirable supplement' to "Manning and Bray's History of the County of Surrey"), is announced as 'now completed'. An early enthusiast of the 'recent Invention and late improvements in Lithography', the author and compiler C.T. Cracklow, 'Architect and Surveyor', also offers to provide 'Artists or Amateurs' with 'Lithographic Stones, and Implements, with the necessary materials', and to execute to order 'Views and Plans of Estates, Drawings, Circulars, Autographs, and other Fac-similes ... with punctuality and dispatch, upon Terms, which cannot fail to give the utmost satisfaction.' The work was issued in parts with a title-page dated 1827 and eventually comprised 156 lithographic plates (see BAL, Early printed books, no. 736).

Binding Folded sheet.

Reference Number 2008
