Anonymous. Sometimes erroneously ascribed to James 'Athenian' Stuart on the basis of William Upcott's misinterpretation of an attribution to 'Mr. Stewart' in Richard Gough's British topography, 1780 (vol. I, p. 611). The first edition had been printed in quarto and published by Dodsley earlier the same year. ESTC t1117.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink on the half-title: John Soane. Inscribed in ink on the title-page by Ralph, which it is not. Bound first with G.W. Manby's A lecture on the preservation of persons in the hour of shipwreck, 1814 (q.v.).

Binding C19th half maroon morocco, marbled-paper boards, blind double-rule borders, gilt double-rule spine direct lettered in gilt with titles &c. Later numbered '69' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
