Many of the plates are by Charles Parrocel (1688--1752). In addition to the eleven engraved illustations printed in the text, which include a plan for a riding academy, there is an engraved armorial head-piece on leaf a2r and singerie tail-piece on leaf Y2r, both of which are counted as illustrations by Podeschi in his catalogue of equestrian books in the Paul Mellon Collection.
