Denon's work, first published in Paris by Didot in 1802 (q.v.), was an instant success, with numerous editions and translations following within the year. Volume II with bound-in errata slip. The atlas of plates with a half-title reading 'Planches Du Voyage Dans La Basse Et La Haute Egypte', with a list of the plates on the verso.

Copy Notes Bought from Thomas Boone for 3 guineas on 5 February 1808. (Spiers Box). Volume I inscribed in ink on front paste-down 3/3/0; in pencil on front free-endpaper by T. Boone plates separate in folio / Complete 3 Vols.

Binding C19th half sprinkled calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-ruled spines, red morocco spine-labels.
