First published 1750 (priority of editions unknown). Later republished with the title The real duty of a woman, in the education of a daughter, 1760, and subsequently appended to the 1761 edition of Muilman's Apology, which was first published in parts in 1748--49 (q.v.). The Soane copy is signed by the author on p. 41 Your Lordships most Obedt. hum[ble] / Servt. T:C Muilman / April ye. 5: 1750, in keeping with the first edition, all copies of which were likewise signed 'to prevent Imposition'. ESTC t82111.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the half-title. Bound at the end of vol. III of Muilman's Apology (q.v.), vol. I having the ownership stamp of Isaac Reed. Previously pamphlet-stitched.
Binding C18th quarter sheep, marbled-paper boards, gilt-ruled spines, red morocco spine-labels.
