This is an expanded revision of parts two and three of Deseine's Description de la ville de Rome, en faveur des étrangers, Lyon 1690, second edition 1699; an expanded revision of part one appeared in the same year under the title: L'Ancienne Rome, la principale des villes de l'Europe, avec toutes ses magnificences et ses délices (q.v.). See BAL Early printed books 1478-1840, no. 857. Title-page and binding-titles printed in black and red. The title-page in volume I is a cancel bifolium, the second leaf being blank; the blank leaf can appear before or after the title-leaf. Schudt 557.
Binding C18th sprinkled calf, roll-tool and gilt double-rule borders, gilt-tooled spines, red morocco spine-labels. The spines misnumbered V=II, II=III, III=V. Uniform with the copy of the same author's L'ancienne Rome, la principale des villes de l'Europe, 4 vols, 1713.
