A large paper copy with proof plates. John Britton had begun part publication of his own History and antiquities of the cathedral church of Salisbury earlier in the same year (q.v.); the present work published by subscription was completed first, but not as successful. BAL, Early printed books, no. 892.

Copy Notes Bought from J. Britton (see p. xiv of subscribers' list) for 4 guineas in 1816 (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.3.3). Inscribed in pencil on front free-endpaper 4 gs/ sells 6 gs.
