Drop-head title, p.[4] blank. Text of prospectus signed and dated 'T.L. Donaldson. 7, Hart Street, Bloomsbury Square. November, 1832.' Each part, containing 'at least twenty-five plates and about fifty pages of letter-press' was to be issued in three monthly numbers and 'to be complete and distinct in itself'. The first number is promised for 1 January 1833 and the price set at £1 11s. 6d. per part or half a guinea per number. There were also to be 'a few proofs ... printed off on India paper at 15s. the number.' The work was available through named publishers in Edinburgh, Dublin, Paris, Leipzig, Florence, St Petersburg, Vienna, and Berlin. In the event, although the first part on ancient doorways was duly issued in 1833 (q.v.), the second part on modern doorways did not appear until 1836 (q.v.).
