First published 1679. The author is possibly Thomas Jenner, whose A book of dravving, limning, vvashing or colouring of maps and prints, was published in 1652, 1660 and 1666, derived from earlier works first compiled by Compton Holland. With a portrait by Johann Rottenhammer (1564--1625) engraved by Francesco de Laram first published in Compton Holland's Booke of the art of drawing according to ye order of Albert Durer, [1620?]. The pagination is irregular: the frontispiece is on the verso of the half-title (π1); leaves B--K2 L1 contain [19] full-page engravings on the rectos with letterpress text on numbered versos; L2 is letterpress, numbered as p. 21 on the recto with printer's advertisement on the verso numbered p. 22. ESTC has a variant imprint 'H[enry] Hills, Jun.', dated 1685. Wing A875F; ESTC r172140.

Copy Notes Bound first in a volume of tracts dated between 1679 and 1702. Armorial bookplate of Thomas Pelham Hood, of Spring-Mount in the County of Antrim, Esq. Partial list of contents of the collection on front free-endpaper in a C18th hand, inscribed also in ink in the same hand R. Reynolds, and in another hand an inventory number 107. Inscribed in pencil on rear pastedown Tracts various 0.4.0.

Binding Early C18th sheep, blind-ruled and blind-tooled borders, gilt double-ruled spine, later green spine-label, gilt-lettered 'Collection / Of / Tracts'. Later numbered '61' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
