This pamphlet was occasioned by a Report of a Committee of the House of Commons appointed to enquire into the best mode of providing sufficient accommodation for the increased trade and shipping of the Port of London in 1796. The author was a resident of Lincoln's Inn Fields. ESTC t145767.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink on half-title With the Author's Compliments/ to R. Burdon, likely Soane's friend Rowland Burdon who was MP for County Durham from 1790 to 1806 and designed the first iron bridge across the Wear (1796).

Binding C19th black roan, blind roll-tooled borders, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-rule and gilt-lettered spine.
