Anonymous. Sometimes attributed to the writer and collector William Young Ottley (1771--1836). No date is given but the letterpress 'Catalogue Of Etchings' includes a reference to part 2 of Thomas Dodd's Connoisseur's repertory, 6 vols, first published in 1824, giving a terminus post quem for the present work.

Copy Notes The plates in the Soane copy are India paper proofs. Inscribed in pencil on front-endpaper Several of the India Proofs are missing / WP.[Wyatt Papworth] Augt. 1893, signed GHB 1895 [i.e. George H. Birch], and/ Missing Plates 11.12.18.21.22.33.37./ Eight in all. W L S. 1904 [i.e. Walter L. Spiers]. The rear free-endpaper inscribed in pencil 0[or 6?]/- and 1 . 14 - 0.

Binding C19th half red morocco, gilt-ruled borders, green Kleisterpapier boards, gilt-tooled spine.
