Parallel Greek and Latin text. The editor, David Gregory, was an Oxford mathematician and astronomer of Scottish origin who wrote the first textbook to integrate Newton's theory of gravitation with conventional findings. Engraved title-page vignette. With imprimatur dated 'Junii 3, 1703'. Final leaf of errata. ESTC t146918.

Copy Notes Purchased for 15s. per John Williams at the R.H. Evans sale of John Nash's library, 15--20 July 1835, lot 416 (q.v.).
