Not in Lugt. Soane was a major purchaser at the sale, buying no less than ten of the 62 lots offered for a total of £24 1s. 0d. Eight of the lots appear to correspond to panels now in the Brocas Chapel of St James's Church in Bramley. See Michael Peover, 'Stained glass in the Brocas Chapel of St James's Church, Bramley, and the Farebrother sales catalogues of 1802', in Sandra Coley (ed.), The stained glass collection of Sir John Soane's Museum (The Journal of Stained Glass, special issue vol. XXVII, 2004), pp. 90--106, where the text of the first day's sale is reproduced. Soane had previously worked for Mrs Brocas at Wokefield, Berkshire in 1789 (P. Dean, Sir John Soane and the country estate, Aldershot, 1999 , p. 179). The catalogue of a second sale of stained glass by Farebrother held on 3 June is also in the Soane Museum (q.v.).
