Translation of Fréart's Parallèle de l'architecture antique avec la moderne, first published 1650 (1702 ed., q.v.). First edition of Evelyn's translation, 1664; other editions 1680, 1707 (q.v.), 1722 (q.v.; reissued 1723, q.v.). Evelyn's 'An Account Of Architects' has separate fly-title, pagination and register. Title-page printed in red and black. No copy seen of this edition has the added engraved title-plate found in earlier editions.
