First edition. Engraved throughout; title-plate signed and dated 'J. Clark Sc 1724'. This popular pocket book presents useful calculations in a clear and convenient presentation. There is also an issue (ESTC n12452) which omits the name of Jer. Batley in the imprint. ESTC t78314; Harris and Savage 307; BAL, Early printed books, no. 1445.
Copy Notes A copy, this or the 'fifth Edition' of 1736 (q.v.), was bought from W. Boone for 6d. on 13 February 1822, lot 24. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.4.8). Measurements of brickwork and sash frame inscribed in ink on rear paste-down.
Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt-rule borders and spine.
