First published in 1753. There are two variants of prelim. leaf b4: one as here, entitled 'Figures referred to in the Book' with an 'Advertisement' on the verso explaining how to locate the figures in the book; the other giving the title as 'Figures referr'd to ...' and without the explanation. Pages [154-5] contain a priced list of 'Prints Published by the Late W. Hogarth: Genuine Impressions of which are to be had of Mrs. Hogarth, ...'. ESTC t162624.

Binding C19th sprinkled calf, gilt-rule borders, gilt roll-tooled spine with Greek key motif, red spine-label.
