Leaf 2*1 (the 'Avis Au Lecteur') known in two variants: in the first, the text begins: 'J'Aurois fait tort au Traducteur de ce livre, ...' and in the second it begins, as in the present copy: "Monsieur De La Chausse, fameux Antiquaire, ...'.
Copy Notes Inscribed in ink on the verso of the first front free-endpaper 145) 4gts 5sts (?), and in pencil on verso of second front free-endpaper -10s-.
Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt-tooled spine.
