Lugt 9065. At this sale Soane purchased his set of pen and wash preparatory drawings for fifteen of the etchings in Piranesi's Paestum series (q.v.). A payment of £14 5s. to Christie on 26 March 1817 is recorded in Soane's accounts, but without any indication of what this is for.
