The parts have been numbered as above in the Soane copy to form a sequence of subjects: Domenichino and Albani (pts I--III); Raphael (pts IV--XI); Michelangelo, Bandinelli and Ricciarelli (pts XII--XIII); Poussin (pts XIV--XVII); and Le Sueur and Jouvenet (pts XVIII--XIX). This reflects the arrangement suggested by the printed spine-labels numbering the parts within each subject. All of the title-page imprints name Chaigneau aíné as printer but the imprints to parts dated 1809 or 1811 replace 'L'Auteur' by 'C.P. Landon' (with a new address), and pts VII--X, XIV and XVII are from a variant issue, naming Treuttel & Wurtz (Paris and Strasburg) as sole publishers. Parts VII--X were clearly published later than stated in their imprints. This copy retains prelims, provisional lists of plates &c., some of which would be discarded if the 19 livraisons were collected, as intended, into a smaller number of bound volumes. - Part I with duplicate pl. 7. Part III with a note tipped in before p. 15 (1st sequence) promising subsequent delivery of four more Domenichino plates (pl. 154--8), as called for by the text but not present. Parts I, IV--V with plates printed before letters and Landon's autograph note on the half-title versos stating they are respectively the 65th, 115th and 37th out of 250 examples. Part XIII with duplicate pp. 9--16.

Copy Notes Uncut, the text largely unopened. Single-page advertisements for this and other works by Landon frequently pasted inside front covers; the advertisements in pts XI--XIII, XV--XVI are dated 'Septembre 1810' and are longer than earlier ones in pts I, III, V. Pencil list possibly in Thomas Boone's hand of contents totalling 19 toms on pastedown to vol. I below price 13 [sic] Vols - £19.19s.0. Another pencilled price in a different hand on rear pastedown £1.16.-/ each part/ compleat copy.
