Copy Notes Copy 1: Pasted inside the front cover is a letter from Landseer to Soane dated 27 May 1835, presenting him with one of the few copies he had printed of his lecture, which was inspired by a cast of a curious monument in the Holy Land lately brought back from Egypt by Joseph Bonomi, son of Soane's 'old friend'. Inscribed on upper cover Sir John Soane/ From the Author.
Copy 2: 28.3 cm. Inscribed in ink on the upper cover From Mr Landseer/ March 1837.

Binding Both copies: Original C19th tan paper wrappers with the title printed on the upper cover in a decorative border.
