Second edition, the first published in 1652 without text, the third (also undated) with numbered plates and 36 pages. With a double page dedication to the Prince de Conty (i.e. Conde). The un-numbered plates include title pages to the first and second parts, a frontispiece and engraved portrait of Antoine Le Pautre. See Fowler Cat. 181.

Copy Notes Copy 1: Part I inscribed with pencil notes, mainly of translation, in the margins of the text and on the plans giving measurements and naming rooms. With a folded sheet of notes (listing French words) in ink and pencil loosely inserted. Inscribed in ink on verso of front free-endpaper 30=.
Copy 2: 38.7 cm. Bought from Thomas Boone for 10s. 6d., 19 March 1812. (Spiers Box). Boone's pencil inscriptions on front free-endpaper with Portrait & plates/ =10s: 6d. Inscribed in ink on verso of portrait T.Jenkyns. Marginal marks of emphasis in pencil.

Binding Copy 1: C18th mottled sheep, double blind rule borders, gilt-tooled spine, red morocco spine-label.
Copy 2: C18th mottled calf, blind-tooled oak leaf and pentaglyph and merope borders, gilt-tooled spine with pomegranate motif, red morocco spine-label.
