Drop-head column title as above. Page [4] is blank. Soane is included towards the end of the half-page 'List of Names with which Dr. Busby's Lucretius has already been honoured. In the order received.' (p. [3]). Intended to be 'presented ... in a form as closely resembling that of the original edition of Pope's Homer as modern paper and modern fonts will admit', the price to subscribers was to be four guineas on delivery, and to non-subscribers five guineas. 'A few copies' were to be printed 'on rich imperial paper, price six guineas' - the quantity to depend presumably on demand. A later version of the prospectus (q.v.) gives the publication date as November 1812 and the work finally appeared in 1813 (q.v.).

Copy Notes Fore-edge cropped, affecting text. With ALs to Soane from the author dated 20 August 1811, soliciting support for the work from such friends as you may have an opportunity of doing me the kindness to shew the papers to .... Bound last with 11 other pamphlets.

Binding C19th half calf, marbled-paper boards, gilt double-rule spine, maroon spine-label lettered 'Pamphlets &c', later numbered '32' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
