MARTINIUS,, Josephus (fl. 1705--23)
Theatrum basilicæ Pisanæ, in quo præcipuæ illius partes enarrationibus, iconibusque ostenduntur. Curâ, & studio Josephi Martinii ...
Romæ:, ex typographia Antonii de Rubeis,, 1705.
[10], 158, [16] p., 32 pl. (30 & 31 on r° & v° of 1 leaf) : wdcut illus. ; 41.6 cm. (2°)

Plates XI, 19, 27 and 30--32 are the only true plates in the work; most of the plates are printed on the reverse of letterpress leaves and their inclusion in the pagination is irregular. There is an engraved cancel on plate X altering the design of the sanctuary. Underneath it is the tabernacle for the festival of Corpus Christie as shown on plate XI. However, the two are differently titled and therefore represent different states. This copy has a duplicate of plate 3. With additions to the 'Paralipomena' and the errata pasted in, presumably after August 1725, the date appearing on a note pasted down on p. 119 in the Appendix. The pagination of pp. 157--158 (the 'Index Chronologicus Pontificum Pisanorum') is also pasted in. See notes to the 1728 edition in BAL Early printed works, no. 2074.

Copy Notes Bound (1) with Appendix ad Theatrum basilicæ Pisanæ, 1723 (q.v.). Bought from Priestley and Weale for £2. 10s. on 24 May 1826 (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.6.9).
