First published in 1703; the 'Third Edition' is a reissue with additional material of the second edition of 1707 (cf. BAL Early printed books, no. 2086.) Title vignette and plates engraved by M. Burghers. The third and subsequent editions contain extra plates by Hawksmoor, namely 'The Perspective of Balbeck Temple' derived from the Grand Marot (q.v.) and the comparative plate of Inigo Jones's 'Tuscan Temple in Covent Garden' at p. 135.
