An account of the collection which Middleton, a Cambridge classicist, acquired in Rome and sold to Horace Walpole. Soane may have been particularly interested in the two plates depicting an Egyptian mummy donated to Cambridge University. The half-title reads 'Antiquitates Middletonianæ'. With an errata slip pasted down on page 266 and a list of books printed for Richard Manby and Henry Shute Cox at the end. ESTC t125483.
