First published anonymously in Rome in 1768 as Le vite de' piu celebri architetti d'ogni nazione e d'ogni tempo. The French translation published in Paris in 1771 with notes by Pingeron (q.v.) was regarded as the second edition. The third edition, entitled Memorie degli architetti antichi e moderni was published in Parma in 1781.

Binding C18th tree calf, gilt roll-tool borders, gilt-tooled spines with urn motif and pentaglyph and merope roll-tool. Uniformly bound with a copy of the author's three-volume Principi di architettura civile, 1785 (q.v.) but with volume spine-labels in different spine compartment.
