First published 1795 (q.v.). The text has been re-set throughout, apparently a word-for-word reprint but omitting the list of subscribers and replacing the earlier engraved dedication to Conyngham with a new letterpress dedication to Soane signed 'The Publisher. Library of Fine Arts, Charles Street, Soho, May, 1836.' (but without accordingly altering the number of plates called for in the title). John Williams had bought the copper plates with the stock of Taylor's Architectural Library after the death of Josiah Taylor in 1834. The imprint line has been erased from almost every plate, including the title, but the engravings are otherwise unaltered from the above first edition; in this copy they have been printed on India paper. Binding C19th russia, border and frame in gilt and blind on upper and lower cover, hinges, and all inside edges. Gilt-tooled spine lettered 'Murphy's/ Church/ Of/ Batalha/ 1836'.
