Collection de dessins des poëles de formes antique et moderne, de l'invention de la manufacture du Sieur Ollivier, ...
[Paris: c. 1790].
4 p., [36] pl. (18 hand coloured) ; 42.0 cm. (2°)

Drop-head title. The designs are the invention of Bosse (fl. 1790) and were engraved by Louis Gustave Taraval (1738--1794). This collection was issued to advertise the stoves of Ollivier, the director of a faience factory founded by Jacques Lallemand de Villehaut at Aprey. See Régine de Plinval de Guillebon, Faïence et porcelaine de Paris: XVIII--XIXe siècles (Dijon: Éd. Faton, 1995). Each plate is included twice, once hand-coloured and once uncoloured, with the intention that potential buyers could adapt the colour schemes and patterns to suit their own requirements.

Copy Notes In addition to the uncoloured duplicate plates provided for each design, this copy contains additional (i.e. triplicate) uncoloured plates of 11 of the designs.

Binding C18th mottled sheep, blind triple-rule borders, gilt-tooled spine.
