Drop-head title. Page [8] blank. A complete list of the plates in the four-volume work is given on pp. [2]--7. Originally published in 1818 at the very high price of £35 14s. for ordinary copies, £71 8s. for copies with india proofs, and £171 14s for copies with the plates printed in colour and mounted, the remaining stock was bought by the bookseller and publisher Samuel Leigh of 18, Strand, following the bankruptcy of the original publishers Hurst, Robinson and Co. in January 1826. In this advertisement Leigh states that 'Only a limited number of this work was printed, after which the whole of the Copper Plates were destroyed according to an Act of Parliament (57 Geo.III. c.61).'
