Edited by the architectural writer and draughstman Pierre Patte. Charles Perrault was the brother of the architect and theorist Claude Perrault (1613--1688). In his Mémoires he claims that he had conceived the design for the Louvre Colonnade utilized by his brother in the execution of the project.
