Quarter sheet, verso blank. Subscribers 'are requested to send their names to the author, No. 8, Saville Row, Burlington Gardens.' There were to be a 'few copies on large paper ... struck off at a small increase in price.' Inscribed in ink at the head Dedicated by Permission to the King. Pettigrew later sent an extended version of the prospectus to Soane with an accompanying letter (q.v.).
Copy Notes An ALs from Pettigrew dated only May 20th. enclosing the Prospectus of a / work I am about to pub-/ lish upon an interesting / & very curious subject may have accompanied this version of the prospectus. (Priv. Corr. XVI.F.165).
