Lugt 13663. The seller was Richard Grenville, 1st Duke of Buckingham and Chandos (1776--1839). The three parts of the catalogue have separate title-pages (pt. 2: p. [85]; pt. 3: p. [184]) but are printed with continous pagination and register. The final leaf is blank.

Copy Notes Copy 1: Rubricated copy, with all prices added in manuscript and with a final inserted manuscript leaf giving a 'General Abstract of the Sale.' The total number of prints sold was 55,417, realising £6727 9s. 0d., 'the average price of each print being about 2s. 5d.' With front free-endpaper inscribed To / Sir John Soane / &c &c &c / from his much obliged and / very humble Servant, / William James Smith / Buckingham House. / January 31st 1835. Title-page inscribed Fine paper copy. / W.J.S. Lacking the final blank leaf.
Copy 2: With the final leaf of part 1 (fol. L2) advertising the second and third parts of the sale bound in the prelims after the 'Index' (fol. A2). All three parts with the original printed buff paper wrappers reading 'Catalogue Of The First (Second, Third) Portion Of The Thirty Days Sale ...' &c. The upper wrapper to part 1 inscribed in ink Sir John Soane / &c &c / With Mr. W.J. Smith's best respects, that to part 2 Sir John Soane/ &c &c/ With Mr. Wm. James Smith's compts/ and that to part 3 as above Sir John Soane/ &c &c/ with Mr. Wm. James Smith's respects. Parts 2 and 3 separately bound.

Binding Copy 1: Bound in a numbered series of late 19th century sale catalogue volumes.
Copy 2: Part 1 pamphlet-stitched in original printed buff paper wrappers. Parts 2 and 3 bound together in a numbered series of late 19th century half calf pamphlet volumes. (Archive, Trustees' Minutes 18 June 1866). With binder's stamp 'Bound By Mansell' on front pastedown.
