First published in 1814. The publisher, who started trading as a bookseller in 1812, brought out a series of guidebooks to European capital cities under the title A new picture of ... . The final 10 pp. advertise the publisher's list, preceded by 4 pp. advertising Mr Isidore Guillet's institution for the education of young people in Paris and concluding, "Any reference to the Publisher of this work will be particularly attended to." Soane, who visited Paris in 1814 and 1819, also owned the eleventh edition, 1819 (q.v.)
