First published in 1665 as a companion edition to Ogilby's Homer his Iliads, 1660 (q.v.). The portrait of Ogilby is by William Fairthorne after P. Lilly; the frontispiece is by R. White; the plates before each book are mostly unsigned. The first is by D. Loggan; the second by P. Willems; that for Book IV is by A. Hertoch; that for Book IX is by D. Loggan after Abraham van Dipenbeecke; that for book XXIII is by Jean Meyssens after A. Dipenbeecke; for XVII is by C. Cauckercken after Diepenbeecke. Schuchard reports an additional portrait of Ormonde to whom the work is dedicated, not included in the above collation. The running titles for pages 1--24 omit the book numbers. Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the plates before Books X and XIX, and without the additional portrait of Ormonde. Bought from Thomas Boone as a two-volume set with the 1669 edition of Ogilby's translation of the Iliad (q.v.) for £1 4s., 19 February 1808 (added to a bill dated 5 February). (Spiers Box). Inscribed in pencil on front pastedown 28/- w Portrait & Plates, probably in Boone's hand. The mispagination has been corrected in ink and the blanks have also been numbered in ink. Some plates cropped at the fore-edge in rebinding.

Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt-ruled spine, red morocco spine-label. Uniform with the copy of Homer his Iliads, 1660 (q.v.).
