Page 20 misnumbered 30. The imprint is false: printed by Ruddiman on the evidence of the ornaments. Later known as the Prologue to the Satires. The notorious attack on Addison included in this Epistle first appeared in print in Cythereia ..., 1733. ESTC t5567; Foxon P802.
Copy Notes Formerly folded. Bound (15) in a collection of satirical and political pamphlets, chiefly in verse; the front pastedown inscribed in ink H Lushington 1766.
Binding C18th quarter pigskin (?), marbled-paper boards, red morocco spine-label gilt-lettered 'Miscellaneous Poems'. Numbered '62' in a series of pamphlet volumes.
