First edition. The first title-page is a general title with an engraved vignette of the Sheldonian Theatre; the second is the volume title-page for 'Volume The First' with the imprimatur of Fitz-Herbert Adams, Vice Chancellor of Oxford dated May 15, 1697, on the verso. Volume II was published in 1699, at which time this volume was reissued with a cancel title-page; see BAL Early printed books, no. 2604. The final 2 pages contain a list of books printed for Abel Swall, at the Unicorn and a notice of books in the press, which were to be published in Trinity Term 1697. Wing P3030; ESTC r16859.
