First published in English in 1697 (vol. I only, q.v.) and reissued with the second volume in 1699. This Latin translation was also issued as vol. XII of Jacob Gronovius, Thesaurus Graecarum antiquitatum, Leyden 1697--1702, but there is no evidence that the present copy is part of a larger work. (See BAL Early printed books, no. 2604 (1699 ed.).) The main text is numbered in 788 columns. Title-page printed in red and black, with engraved vignette.
Copy Notes Bought from Thomas Boone for 9s. on 5 July 1815 (Spiers Box). Inscribed in pencil on front free-endpaper Caligula 9 / Fine impressions of the Plates / =9s=. Pencil notes (in Dutch, or shorthand?) inscribed in margins.
Binding C18th calf, blind-tooled panels and borders, blind-tooled spine, red morocco spine-label.
