One of the first comprehensive English guide books to Italy. With a dedication to Prince Charles, later Charles II, a letter to the author from J. Berkenhead, and a laudatory poem by J. N. The additional engraved title (and running head) reads 'Il Mercurio Italico'. With final leaf bearing errata and imprimatur dated 28 June 1648. ESTC r33233; Thomason, E.1128[1]
