Edited by Leigh Hunt. The first two numbers only (of four), published in December 1810 ('No. I. October, November, December.') and April 1811 ('No. II. For January, February, March'), with a general title-leaf as above dated 1811. Unnumbered leaf of contents for No. II inserted after p. 248. Volume II (1812) containing numbers III--IV is not in the Soane Museum.

Copy Notes With the original limp printed grey paper covers of the two numbers bound in at the end, with title as above on upper cover and announcement of the following number on the lower cover. With [4] pp. of publication advertisements (q.v.) and [6] pp. of books 'lately' published by James Carpenter (q.v.), and the original printed wrappers of both numbers bound up at the end. Bought for 6s., 12 June 1811. (Office Account Book, 1810--13. Archives 6/56/5). With pencilled marginal comments and marks of emphasis in Article XXI of no. I, 'Remarks on the Past and Present State of the Arts in England.' (see pp. 207ff.). Uncut and partly unopened.

Binding Bound in a numbered series of late 19th century half calf pamphlet volumes. (Archive, Trustees' Minutes 18 June 1866). With binder's stamp 'Bound By Mansell' on front pastedown.
