Hilles 7 (this copy not recorded). The uncorrected edition with the wrong date, and 'sloop' for 'stoop' on p.7. According to Hilles, both this and the corrected edition (ESTC t591) were issued with a half-title, not present in the Soane copy. The fifth discourse. ESTC t31953.
Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the half-title. Title-page inscribed in ink To Mr. P. Sandby / from the Author. Some corrections in ink on p. 16. Bound (4) in volume lettered on spine 'Discourses / of / Sir J. / Reynolds / 1769 / To / 1776', the front free-endpaper inscribed in ink From the Author to P. Sandby.
Binding C18th sprinkled calf, gilt-ruled spine, later black morocco spine-label with evidence of earlier direct lettering beneath. Edwin Hutchinson did some work on the binding costing a total of 4s. 3d. on 2 August 1831 (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.7.16 Bookbinding).
