Not in Lugt. The star of this sale was the so-called 'Exeter' clock, a 17th-century copy of the famous mechanical clock at Strasbourg. According to the auctioneer's description its 'talented but ill-requited' maker, Jacob Lovelace of Exeter, 'consumed thirty-four years in completing this astonishing proof of the power of Mechanism'.
