First published in Leiden in 1706. The privilege names the authors as 'Le sieur de Rogissart & H***' [= Havard]. There are at least two editions of this version with a Paris imprint dated 1707, the one represented here and that held by the BAL, the latter distinguished by the variant spelling of 'tres-grand' without the grave accent on the title-page, and by the presence of the list of booksellers forming the Compagnie des Libraires on the verso of the title-page. Copy Notes Volume I inscribed in ink on verso of added title-plate 20s/ and John Soane/ 1815.

Binding Early 19th-century catspaw calf, gilt foliate roll-tooled borders, gilt double-rule spine compartments, green morocco gilt-lettered spine-labels. Bound by W. Boone for 13s. on 18 December 1821. (Priv. Corr. XVI.E.4.11).
