Single quarter sheet, verso blank, with drop-head title. Watermark date: 1818. West had died on 11 March 1820. Rossi's attempt to raise a public subscription for this proposed monument to West, a model of which he exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1821 (cat. 1112), seems to have been unsuccessful.
