This is in effect the first 'Annual Report' published by the Institute. The imprint of G. Woodfall appears on the title-leaf verso and colophon.

Copy Notes An interleaved copy specially bound for Soane who was an Honorary Fellow.

Binding C19th russia, gilt triple-rule borders, gilt frames with 'Institute/ Of/ British Architects' lettered in gilt on the upper cover, gilt-tooled spine, gilt edges. Verso of front free-endpaper has binder's stamp 'Bound By Hering'. Ramsden, London book binders 1780--1840 (London 1956), p. 81, lists five binders named Hering.
