Anonymous. First published in 1711. The 'second edition' of 1715 was in fact a reissue of the sheets of the 1711 edition with those of the Supplement to the antiquities of St. Peter's [&c.] issued in 1713. The author is identified by Halkett and Laing as Jodocus Crull. The dedication of vol. I to the Earl of Orrery is signed H. S.; the dedication of vol. II to Sir Richard Steele is signed J. R. The appendix in vol. II has its own pagination and register. ESTC t91380; BAL Early printed books, no. 758.
Copy Notes Volume I inscribed in ink on front free-endpaper S: Crawley. Volume two Bound following volume II of this copy is A catalogue of books ... sold by E. Curll, [1720?] (q.v.).
