In 1823 Seguin built the first suspension bridge using iron wire instead of chains or rope over the Rhône between Tain and Tournon. Four of the plates are signed 'Louvet sculp.'

Copy Notes Imperfect; wanting the half-title. Bound (1) with P.S. Girard, Considérations sur les canaux, 2nd ed., 1824 (q.v.).

Binding C19th mottled calf, triple-rule gilt borders, thick-thin gilt-ruled spine, green spine-labels, marbled edges and endpapers. Bound 'Calf Extra' by (and possibly bought from?) T. & W. Boone at the same time as three other books on bridges for 3s. 10d. on 23 September 1825. (Spiers Box).
