Proposals for disposing of a beautiful picture painted by Thomas Stothard Esq. R.A. representing Chaucer's "Canterbury Pilgrimage."

Single leaf of lithographically printed script, drop-head title as above, verso blank. Watermark: Fellows / 1832. The painting, which could be seen 'on application to W.B. Tiffin, Printseller, No. 434, Strand West, near Lowther Arcade', was to be drawn for in a lottery held at these premises on 7 January 1833. The tickets, limited to 125 in number, sold for 2 guineas each, for which every 'subscriber' received a free impression of James Heath's line-engraving after the painting 'published at 2 Guineas'.

Copy Notes Inscribed in ink at the end of line 15 & the print / be then delivered. Verso inscribed in ink by later (curatorial) hand Proposals for / disposing of Stothards / Picture / the Canterbury Pilgrimage.
